Doublebetting: Extreme Makeover

We were asked by the folks at duplaposta.com (known internationally by the name of doublebetting.com) to revamp their website, both in terms of looks, features and overall organization. It was home to a big community and holds the position of most proeminent sports betting online place in Portugal, we felt very excited with the responsability, and started working our craft.
After some weeks of fun and hard work, we finished the polishing and rebuilding. Besides redesigning the whole website, we improved important components:

• The forum, probably the heart of Dupla Aposta's activity, was rebuilt from scratch and data from the old one brought over.
  
  
   
• The tutorials area, very important for both newcomers and avid betters, started as a couple of forum threads; nowadays it's a full featured section with video expanations and a completely different ease of usage.
  
  
   
• The calculator, a tool for assessing betting risks, profit and odds was heavily rebuilt. More than a simple form, it's now a powerful tool with integrated hints and a bet sharing tool, something that was lacking and that allows users to understand when and how to bet by watching fellow users betting patterns.
  
  
   
• Members can seen their own activity and replies from others by checking their personal dashboard areas; navigation was greatly improved with this, as there was no "landing point" in the previous version; visitors felt somewhat lost in some of the pages.
  
  

All of this work payed off, as we were aiming: unique visitors doubled and pageviews sky-rocketed to three times what they used to be! Also, and more importantly, these statistics kept stable, meaning we were able to overcome the hype and achieved a steady growth curve.
